The requirement
Video production no longer sits only in broadcast facilities. Universities, corporate teams, auditoriums, event companies and small studios all need several camera angles, clean audio and graphics, sent to a live stream, a recording or a screen in another room. The difficulty is rarely one device. It is making cameras, switcher, audio, encoder and network behave as one system that a small team can run every day.
Recommended AV approach
We begin with the output: who watches, on which platform, and how much delay is acceptable. That decides the signal chain. A typical chain has cameras feeding a video mixer, an audio mixer feeding the same programme output, and an encoder or streaming unit delivering the result to a platform or recorder.
The signal format is the first real decision:

SDI uses locking BNC connectors and coaxial cable that runs much further than HDMI. It suits fixed studios and long camera runs.

HDMI is found on most cameras and displays. It works well for short runs; longer distances need active extenders or fibre, and loose connectors in a busy rack are a common cause of dropouts.

NDI sends video over a standard IP network. It reduces point-to-point cabling but needs a properly planned gigabit-class network, managed switches and control over bandwidth.
Latency deserves a decision, not an assumption. A lecture stream can tolerate a few seconds of delay, while image magnification in a live event needs the shortest path possible, which usually means avoiding extra conversion stages and network hops.

In production work, integration is where most time is spent: matching resolutions and frame rates across every device, setting up audio routing and delay so lips match pictures, and building camera presets so operators are never guessing.
Tally and talkback are worth planning early. Tally lights tell presenters which camera is live, and talkback lets the director speak to camera operators and presenters without going through the programme audio. Both are simple to include at design stage and awkward to add later.
Operator workflow decides whether a system gets used. We configure layouts and presets around how your team actually works, and train operators on the routine tasks: starting up, checking audio levels, switching, starting the stream and shutting down. Frequently asked questions
Should we choose SDI, HDMI or NDI?
SDI is dependable for fixed installations and long cable runs. HDMI is fine for short, simple setups. NDI suits sites with a well-designed network and a wish to reduce cabling, but it should be planned with your IT team. Many real systems mix all three.
Can one person operate a multi-camera setup?
Yes, with PTZ cameras, saved presets and a video mixer with simple layouts. Larger productions still benefit from a separate camera operator or director.

Can you train our operators?
Yes. User training is part of our delivery, and we can tailor it to the staff or volunteers who will run the system.
