The RØDE NT1 AI-1 Complete Studio Kit combines the NT1 large-diaphragm studio condenser microphone with the AI-1 single-channel USB audio interface, an SM6 shock mount and pop filter, and the cables listed by RØDE. It is a home and studio recording starting point for vocals, instruments, podcasts and voice-over. Universal AV Solutions supplies it to creators, studios, corporate teams and educators across India.
What's included in the complete kit
RØDE lists the NT1 condenser microphone, the AI-1 audio interface, an SM6 shock mount and pop filter, an XLR cable and a USB-C to USB-A cable. A computer, headphones, studio monitors, a microphone stand or boom arm and other accessories are not included. RØDE's product page also mentions a free version of Ableton recording software, but we have not confirmed its terms or availability for India, so please do not treat it as part of the package.
NT1 microphone features
The NT1 is a large-diaphragm studio condenser with a large 1-inch gold-sputtered capsule and a cardioid polar pattern. RØDE lists a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz, a maximum input SPL of 132dB, a sensitivity of -29 dB re 1 V/Pa and an output impedance of 100Ω. RØDE's kit page states a self-noise of 4.5dBA. The NT1 has a 3-pin XLR output and no USB output.
AI-1 audio interface features
The AI-1 is a single-channel USB audio interface with one Neutrik XLR/¼-inch combo input, two ¼-inch impedance-balanced line outputs and a ¼-inch headphone output with a high-power headphone amplifier. It records at 24-bit with sample rates of 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96kHz, offers switchable 48V phantom power and a zero-latency monitoring mode, and is USB bus-powered. It does not offer 32-bit float or 192kHz recording.
Recording workflow and connectivity
Connect the NT1 to the AI-1 combo input with the XLR cable, switch on 48V phantom power, and connect the AI-1 to a compatible computer through its USB Type-C port using the included USB-C to USB-A cable. Plug headphones into the headphone output for monitoring and studio monitors into the two line outputs. The NT1 is an XLR microphone, not a USB microphone; the AI-1 provides the USB connection.
