Product information
The Datavideo NVS-35 is a professional H.264 video encoder and recorder for live streaming, broadcast, corporate AV, worship, education, events and multi-platform content delivery. It takes an HDMI or SDI program feed, encodes it in H.264 High Profile Level 4.1, and can stream it live while recording at the same time.
Stream and record from HDMI or SDI
With one HDMI input and one SDI input, the NVS-35 fits straight onto the output of a camera, a video switcher or a mixer. It accepts resolutions up to 1080p at 60/59.94/50 fps, plus 1080i, 720p, 480i and 576i. Recording and streaming can run at different bitrates, so you can keep a higher-quality recording while sending a lighter stream to match the network. Datavideo lists up to 16 Mbps for recording only, up to 10 Mbps for streaming only, and up to 36 Mbps for recording plus dual streaming at 1080p50/60.
Dual streaming, SRT and flexible protocols
Dual streaming lets one source go to two platforms or CDNs at once, for example YouTube and Facebook. Alongside RTMP/RTMPS publishing, the NVS-35 supports SRT, which is a good option on unreliable networks, plus RTSP and TS over TCP/UDP for players and decoders. A vertical screen streaming option helps prepare portrait video for smartphone viewers. The NVS-35 is also compatible with Datavideo's dvCloud service, a separate subscription service for distributing one stream to more destinations.
Direct SD card recording and flexible audio
Record directly to SD card with FAT32, exFAT and NTFS support and continuous recording with no file size limit, which makes the NVS-35 a useful backup recorder for live events. For audio, choose HDMI or SDI embedded audio, an RCA input, two XLR inputs, or a mix of them. Audio is encoded as AAC-LC at 48 kHz, 16-bit, with 128K, 256K or 384K options.
Where the NVS-35 fits in your workflow
Place the NVS-35 at the end of the production chain, after the cameras and switcher, as the stage that turns the program output into streams and a recording. It works well for live event streaming, corporate webcasting and town halls, lecture and classroom streaming, house of worship services and multi-camera broadcast production. If you need a switcher in the chain, see the Datavideo SE-650 video switcher, or for an all-in-one streaming studio, the Datavideo HS-1300.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Datavideo NVS-35?
The Datavideo NVS-35 is an H.264 dual streaming encoder that also records. It takes an HDMI or SDI video source and can stream it live while recording at the same time, including streaming to two platforms or CDNs at once.
Does the NVS-35 support both HDMI and SDI inputs?
Yes. The NVS-35 has one HDMI input and one SDI input, and accepts resolutions up to 1080p at 60/59.94/50 frames per second, as well as 1080i, 720p, 480i and 576i.
Can the NVS-35 stream and record at the same time?
Yes. It encodes H.264 for live streaming and recording simultaneously, and the bitrates can be set differently for each. Datavideo lists up to 16 Mbps for recording only, up to 10 Mbps for streaming only and up to 36 Mbps for recording plus dual streaming at 1080p50/60.
Can the NVS-35 stream to two platforms simultaneously?
Yes. It supports dual streaming, so one source can go to two platforms or CDNs at once, for example YouTube and Facebook. Datavideo does not publish a maximum number of destinations beyond this dual-stream capability.
Does the NVS-35 support SRT?
Yes. SRT is supported alongside RTMP/RTMPS, RTSP and TS over TCP/UDP. SRT is useful as an alternative to RTMP on unreliable networks.
Can the NVS-35 record directly to an SD card?
Yes. It records directly to an SD card and supports FAT32, exFAT and NTFS file systems, with continuous recording and no file size limit. Datavideo publishes an SD card compatibility FAQ, so please check it, or ask us, before choosing cards.
What audio inputs does the NVS-35 support?
It supports HDMI embedded audio, SDI embedded audio, one RCA input and two XLR inputs, and the audio can be embedded, external or a mix of them. Audio is encoded as AAC-LC at 48 kHz, 16-bit, in stereo or mono, with 128K, 256K or 384K bitrate options.
What applications is the Datavideo NVS-35 suitable for?
It suits any workflow that needs to stream and record an HDMI or SDI program feed, including live events, corporate webcasting, lecture and education streaming, house of worship streaming and multi-camera broadcast production. Send us your setup and we will confirm the right configuration.
