Product information

The Datavideo iCAST 10NDI is an all-in-one live production and hybrid event switcher that combines video switching, NDI|HX connectivity, streaming, recording, audio mixing, character generation and system control in a single 1RU platform. It is built for teams that want to run a multi-camera production, from a lecture hall to a corporate conference, without assembling a rack of separate boxes.

One platform for live production

Instead of a separate switcher, encoder, recorder, audio mixer and graphics unit, the iCAST 10NDI brings these functions together. Operators can cut between sources, adjust audio, add logos, titles and captions, start streaming and recording, and monitor everything on a multiview, using the front-panel LCD, the Web UI or an optional TPC-700 touch panel controller. Datavideo positions it for classroom, lecture capture and conferencing work as well as hybrid events.

Flexible video connectivity

It is a 5-channel switcher with one 3G/HD/SD-SDI input and four HDMI 1.4 inputs (channel 1 can be set to SDI or HDMI), plus a USB 3.0 input for sources such as a document camera. An SDI loop-through, an HDMI program output and a separate HDMI multiview output let you feed displays, recorders and confidence monitors. It handles HD and SD sources, up to 1080p at 60/59.94/50, and can mix HD and SD inputs.

NDI workflow over Ethernet

With NDI|HX input and output support, the iCAST 10NDI can receive and decode up to three IP video signals over Ethernet, alongside RTSP and SRT sources. This makes it easy to add NDI|HX PTZ cameras on the network while keeping HDMI and SDI sources for local cameras and presentation computers. Good network design matters for any IP workflow, and our team can help you plan it.

Streaming and recording

A built-in streaming encoder supports RTMP/RTMPS, SRT, HLS, WebRTC, RTSP and TS over UDP, and vertical streaming helps with mobile-first delivery. The built-in H.264 recorder saves MP4 files up to 1080p50/60 and offers ISO recording of the five camera inputs plus the program output. Recording uses internal SATA storage with a removable 2.5-inch drive enclosure (the drive is not included). Datavideo's optional dvCloud subscription adds distribution to multiple platforms.

Hybrid event and education applications

Use it for hybrid events, corporate conferences, classrooms and lecture capture, government and institutional meetings, multi-camera productions and live streaming. If you only need an encoder and recorder, see the Datavideo NVS-35; for traditional multi-input switching, compare the Datavideo SE-650 and the all-in-one Datavideo HS-1300.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Datavideo iCAST 10NDI?

The Datavideo iCAST 10NDI is a 5-channel all-in-one streaming switcher for hybrid events, classrooms, lecture capture and conferencing. It combines video switching, NDI|HX connectivity, a built-in streaming encoder and H.264 recorder, audio mixing, a character generator and system control in a 1RU unit.

Is the iCAST 10NDI a video switcher or encoder?

It is primarily an all-in-one streaming switcher, but it also incorporates a built-in streaming encoder and recorder. That means you can switch between sources, stream live and record from one device, without adding a separate encoder.

How many video inputs does the iCAST 10NDI support?

Datavideo lists 1 × 3G/HD/SD-SDI, 4 × HDMI 1.4 (channel 1 is selectable between SDI and HDMI), 1 × USB 3.0, and up to 3 IP sources (RTSP, SRT or NDI|HX) over Ethernet. It is a 5-channel switcher, so please share your camera and source list and we will confirm the best input plan.

Does the iCAST 10NDI support NDI?

Yes. It supports NDI|HX input and output, and can receive and decode up to 3 NDI signals over Ethernet, in addition to RTSP and SRT sources. Network design matters for NDI, so contact us to plan the setup.

Can the iCAST 10NDI stream and record simultaneously?

Yes. It has a built-in streaming encoder and an H.264 recorder (MP4, up to 1080p50/60), so you can stream and record at the same time. Recording uses internal SATA storage with a removable 2.5-inch HDD/SSD enclosure; the drive itself is not included.

Does it support ISO recording?

Yes. ISO recording captures the five camera inputs plus the program (PGM) output, six channels at once, which helps with post-production and archive copies.

Does the iCAST 10NDI support SRT?

Yes. SRT is supported (caller and listener) alongside RTMP/RTMPS, HLS, WebRTC, RTSP, TS over UDP and NDI|HX. Datavideo's dvCloud service, sold separately, can be added for multi-platform distribution.

What applications is the iCAST 10NDI suitable for?

It suits hybrid events, corporate conferences, classrooms and lecture capture, government and institutional meetings, and multi-camera live production and streaming. Tell us about your room or event and we will recommend the right configuration.
